Mr. Smith directs the operations and activities of the Office of Student Financial Services, including oversight of nearly a half-a-billion dollars of annual federal, state, institutional, and private financial aid awarding. Responsibilities include financial aid compliance, processing, and extensive client service delivery via electronic and paper communications, as well as telephone, email, and in-person financial aid counseling. In addition, Student Financial Services manages in-person payment processes on behalf of the IUPUI Office of the Bursar. Mr. Smith is responsible for federal student aid participation, as well as federal student aid reporting processes. Student Financial Services works with various stakeholders across campus to deliver financial aid to the right students at the right time in the right way while following extensive regulatory guidance.
